VSTAR Patient Encounter Notes (VPEN) is now shut down.
A needs assessment will be conducted over the next several months to determine how to move forward. Multiple user groups of faculty, staff, and students will be contacted. Because of the Epic transition, we cannot predict how long it will be before a new system is operational. During this transition, your information will not be accessible.

Our servers are using an older technology that is no longer supported, and pose a security risk.

How long will it be offline?
This is currently unknown, and will depend on many factors; a needs assessment will be conducted over the next several months. Multiple user groups of faculty, staff, and students will be contacted. Additionally, we will be working with the Epic team to determine best means to captures residents’ procedure notes and student’s patient notes.
Will I lose my data from the past?
The current database will be archived
Can I make a request for my data?
During the period of shutdown, we are not able to process data requests.
How can I get feedback on my notes?
Students will need to work with their course directors to determine the best means to get feedback on notes. Be sure to use secure (not email) methods for communicating PHI. For a list of secure methods, view this article.
