Pros and cons of installing the desktop client

Pros: It can be more robust and easier to use

Cons: the client needs to be kept up-to-date (so if you leave Vanderbilt and come back later, or you don’t logon for a long time, you will likely receive errors and not be able to logon). The client also requires more bandwidth and is more prone to errors and can perform slowly at times making you think it has errored out.
