Integrated Calendar

Displaying course schedules and VSTAR Learn events on the calendar is being released in stages. These features are being piloted to the FMK phase and will eventually roll out to other phases.

The Integrated Calendar Will Include The Following Events

  • Student Affairs events
  • Academic calendar
  • Student organization events coming from AnchorLink
  • Course Start, Mid, and End dates
  • Course sessions*
  • Assignments from VSTAR Learn
  • Scheduled Portfolio Coach meetings

*FCC and IMM phase students will have the integrated calendar but will not yet be able to view course session dates and  VSTAR Learn events from within VSTAR Next. Date of expansion to  these phases is to be determined.

A New Way to Schedule A Meeting With Your Coach

An exciting new feature is the ability to schedule meetings with your Portfolio Coach from within the app.

Coaches will set up their own available slots and notify you. Once notified, you are responsible for choosing a time from their calendar and scheduling. You may see email notices begin as early as February 13th, 2023.

The Portfolio Coaching Calendar is published on the MD Gateway, and your Portfolio Coach will add availability to their calendar that matches the calendar for your phase. After your coach has made times available, you will  be notified by email that meeting times are now available. There is a  link provided in the email notification to go directly to the Coach Availability calendar in your Student Portfolio. Until the Assessment feature is added to VSTAR Next, you will navigate to your current Portfolio to complete assessment activities related to your Portfolio Coach Meeting.

Some coaches for FMK and FCC phases may start scheduling availability as soon as the week of February 13, 2023. If you receive a notice of availability from your coach then use the link or follow the instructions in the email.

New Landing Page

The new student landing page has widgets to view calendar events, link to the student portfolio, and see tasks.

New Student Portfolio Area

The new Student Portfolio management area inside VSTAR Next will eventually be replacing all of  the functions currently found in the VSTAR Portfolio app.

All functionality of the new app is not yet complete and new functionality will be rolled out over the next 4-6 months.

You will need to use VSTAR Portfolio to view assessment responses, competency summaries, feedback, and grades.

This area will include information about Promotions, Self Assessments, Coach Reports, & Progress Reflections.

Learning Goals

This area will be used to create and track your Learning Goals.

Competencies

This area will replace your current Milestone, Competency, and EPA dashboard in VSTAR Portfolio.

Feedback

This area will replace the Feedback for Me page in VSTAR Portfolio.
